Units is an application designed to help diabetics especially the newly diagnosed. The application has various features that would help a diabetic adapt to his new lifestyle, by tracking the insulin and food intake as well as the physical activities and exercise.

What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when there is imbalance in the insulin hormone, insulin is the hormone that regulate the blood glucose. The pancreas is responsible for the secretion of insulin to aid the human body in storing and using the sugar and fat found in food. Diabetes happens when the pancreas can not produce or produce little amount of insulin that can not cover the glucose intake from the food the person eats.

There are two type of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes in which the pancreas does not work at all; therefore, it does not produce insulin in the bloodstream to regulate the blood glucose. While in type 2 diabetes the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or it does not secrete insulin properly.
